First I want to thank all of you who took the time to write back to me after I shared my last email. Going through a difficult time and being open about it puts me in a vulnerable situation and I appreciate the heartfelt emails I received. Thank you.
I took a little time to write up a prequel story to the Cinderella's Secret Diaries series. If you're new to the series, the premise is simple: What truly happened after Cinderella married the Prince? I'll give you a hint in that it all wasn't all "happily ever after." Below is a short story I wrote that takes place right before book 1, Lost, of the Cinderella's Secret Diaries series. I hope you enjoy the story below. Thank you.
The Prince leaned forward and it took him a few seconds for his eyes to focus on me. “I would have taken the shot but Bennet walked in front of me.” He pounded the table and the wine in his glass sloshed to the top and nearly spilled over. “He walked in front of me. The man had never been on a hunt before in his life. You would think that he would know not to do that. You cannot get good help these days. You cannot!”
I grew up in a crazy Italian/Irish Catholic household. One in which the women took on the brunt of the housework while the men watched TV or puttered around the house. The division of labor was pretty clear cut. After my mom divorced and moved back into her parents, my mom worked full-time while my grandfather and grandmother watched my brother and I.
I started writing Found: Cinderella's Secret Diaries (book 3) on my birthday back in January 2013. Over the next year, I would alternate days throughout the week and either run or write. Throughout 2013, I trained and ran for 2 marathons, Philadelphia's Broad Street Run (10 miler) and the ODDyssey half-marathon. That's a lot of running. During that time, I used my exercising to think and work out plot points for Found.
