Why?

Lots going on.  I've been extremely busy with work and haven't had a lot of time.  Today I went on a site visit to Maryland and didn't get until fairly late.  By the time I finished with dinner, cleaning up, putting my son to bed, and then checking up on work e-mail--well, it's late in the day and I'm beat tired.

I've started working on customizing the www.losoil.com website.  I created a new banner for the site and I'm working on updating the CSS file to what will fit better for my own personal tastes.  Thankfully, I received some excellent help from customer service and now I just need time to work on updating the CSS.  I've made some minor modifications, but I haven't had any more time to test and implement any further changes.

I also received the good news today that my professional references have been accepted for membership to SFWA.  I should be receiving my membership package within the next week or two.  I'm rather proud of that achievement. I'd talk about more if I had a chance, but I'm beat.  Peace.

More Work on the Kitchen

Here's a picture of what the kitchen looked like originally and down below you'll see a picture as it looks like today--the wall was knocked down on Wednesday.  Wow, it's looking pretty bare!  We're hoping that the project will be finished in time for Christmas.  I'm running late and have to get going--just wanted to put this information up there.  Quick note: Earlier this morning (at 6:00 a.m.) I was able to finish my next article for Beckett Magic the Gathering magazine.  Hurray!

Back from Boston and New Kitchen

I'm back from Boston.  Did you even know I was gone? Time has been rather compressed of late as I'm doing this and doing that.  I'm in the middle of a writing project and as I've mentioned I was in Boston since last Saturday for work.  But that hasn't stopped life from revolving--lots going on these days. I had hoped to work on a new episode of the Magic Sock but I might pass this week.  I've not received any feedback yet and with a writing deadline fast approaching as well as lots of work with my job, it might make sense for me to hold back and relax a week.  I had expected some feedback for my last combo episode but there's not been one e-mail.  That's rather surprising.

Personally, I'd rather take my spare time and get some work around the house as well as work on this blog.  I'd like to start working on designing my own template as this generic one is okay, but not what I want for the long haul.  I've some ideas, but I need time to play around with them.

What's this a picture of?  (Click on the image for the full sized version.) Glad you asked.  We're having our kitchen redone and this is a picture that my wife sent me via her cell phone a few days ago.  Yep, I've no kitchen.  When I returned home last night, it was even in worse shape--there's no wall now and just wires hanging.  Dust was everywhere!  Hopefully, the kitchen project will go smoothly but it's safe to say that we'll be eating out a lot more these days.  I'm looking forward to the project being completed soon. Well, I've worked to do.  Have a good one!

Finished (Well, Almost)

I'm nearly finished the switchover from my old blog (Ublog) to my new Typepad one.  It's been a lot of work.  I still have a bunch of unfinished business to do on the backend (cleaning up files and the like), but I wanted to make the announcement that I'm done the bulk of bringing over all the old posts.  That took a lot of work.  I had content in my old blog from Jan 1, 2005 up until a few weeks ago.  What is also nice is that I know have some great links to some of my old writings.
