I'm back from Chicago and I must admit with all honestly: It's damn good to be back! I was sick with a bad cold while I was away for work and the problems with my flight (both going and returning) pushed my patience to the limit. On the way to Chicago, I woke up at 4:30 a.m., took a taxi cab and arrived at 6:00 a.m. for my 7:40 a.m. flight. We found out about 30 minutes later that, because of bad fog and thunderstorms in Chicago, that our flight to Chicago was cancelled. I didn't get on the plane until 10 a.m. and it didn't take off until 10:30 a.m. By the time I arrived in Chicago, I had only a few hours to complete all the necessary tasks I had in front of me before my work started. I was up at 4 a.m. and didn't arrive in Chicago until 2 p.m., working until 9:30 a.m. east coast time. Long, long day.
Last night in returning from Chicago we got on the plane and then were told: "Philadelphia air traffic control has called us and we might need to sit on the runway for 2 hours before we can take off." Our flight was already 50 minutes late in taking off. Again, rain showers was stopping us from taking off. Thankfully, we only needed to wait 30 minutes before we could take off.
Once we landed in Philadelphia, we had to taxi on the runway for a bit (about 20 minutes) before we came into our final gate. As I'm writing this, I'm e-mailing an image I took of the sun setting while I was on the plane. I'll share it with all of you.
Well, I'm back and now I've a lot to get caught up on on the home front. I've a ton of wash to do! But in the realm of work, I just finished a good bit of work, but I'd also like to work on some writing today and the business of writing.
Enjoy your weekend and take it easy! It's good to be back! Peace.
